This one is completely new. In fact, they just announced it was on the way in early January. Which prompted Emily McWhorter Williams to send me this message on Facebook: "Now. Get. These. Now." And so, I got them. If you like Bailey's, these are right up your alley. Go ahead and get a couple of boxes.
As a part of of 5-year celebration, I am bringing back some of my favorite products that have graced the shelves of RLC over the years. When I first opened, I carried these handmade caramels from Memphis' Shotwell Candy Company. Owned by Jerrod Smith, a corporate attorney, he would make them after work (and his three daughters were asleep) every night in a big copper pot in their home kitchen (roughly 9pm - 2am). Each piece was hand-cut and wrapped in brown wax paper. And each piece tastes like a little bit of heaven. In the subsequent five years, the company has grown. I was one of only a handful of businesses carrying the product, but now Shotwell (named after his great-grandfather, L. Shotwell George) is well-known around the south, even raking in accolades from such names as Garden & Gun (2015 Made in the South Award runner up), Real Simple, Southern Living (2015 Southern Living Food Award for Best Sweet), Fine Cooking, Grub Street and even Entertainment Weekly.
4 ounce box (about 11-13 pieces)

Oh, I am beginning to think I have a problem. I hide these in the pantry so no one else will steal them. They are a perfect tiny indulgence. Treat yourself.
