The set includes her original product - and Malaysia's condiment of choice - Hot Chili Sambal (a combination of ground spices and aromatics, with the main ingredient being fresh red chillies) as well as her 2018 sofi award winners: Lime Leaf Sambal (Makrut Lime carefully blended with green peppers and garlic) and Pandan Kaya (a rich, creamy spread for toast made from coconut milk, cane sugar and cage-free eggs), and a jar of Salted Caramel Kaya.
In 2015, I met Auria at the Summer Fancy Food Show in Manhattan and fell for her charming personality and her amazing Malaysian condiment line. RLC was still finding its footing and I did not add the product to the collection, but knew I eventually would. Fast forward to 2018, when I get the list of sofi award winners and see Auria's name pop up not once, but twice! I immediately emailed her and ordered a case of everything she makes. The flavors are authentic, not dumbed down to make it more marketable and while some describe her products as "weird," we all know that that's exactly the kind of stuff I am drawn to and add to the shop. And, we all know that I'm literally putting my name behind everything Riley/Land carries, so there's not a clunker in the bunch.
