Miss Ruby Land was my Daddy's daddy's mama. I was lucky enough to know her as a child and she was as spirited as an old lady who had had eight children could be. I love hearing stories about her enormous breakfasts - which remind me of the ones my mama cooks when we are all home. And so, when I picked up this piece, dressed fancier than all of the other traditional rolling pins, I had to give her a name and it was, immediately, Miss Ruby.
Made of a variety of woods, but most prominently are the RLC standbys (because those trees grow proudly on my family's land), Black Walnut, Cherry and Maple.
