Craft + Stewardship

Every piece in The Riley/Land Collection begins with a natural material: wood, fiber, wax. Each chosen for its integrity and longevity.

Our wooden tools are made slowly, from responsibly-sourced Tennessee hardwoods (black walnut, cherry, maple, hackberry, white oak). The bulk of the trees once stood tall on my family farm. The pieces are shaped by hand, and finished with food-safe oils. They are designed for daily use, to age well, and to grow more beautiful over time.

We appreciate variation in grain, embrace the natural aspects of the trees, and respect subtle irregularities. We refer to these items as “new family heirlooms,” because that’s what they are.

For every tree harvested, another is planted in its place to even out the universe. Materials are used thoughtfully, with an intention for minimal waste. Our production is - and will remain - intentionally small.

The products from The Riley/Land Collection are objects meant for real kitchens, in real homes. They earn their place through use, care, and time. We believe that when something is made well and treated well, it lasts. And when it lasts, it matters.

Made with intention. Meant to endure.
