Miss Clarissa French Rolling Pin
Miss Clarissa French Rolling Pin
The Miss Ethel Rolling Pin is my best-selling rolling pin. I have carried it since back in the Harlem days. We decided to dress her up a bit, using a process that is much more time-consuming, but creates a stunning piece of functional art.
The evolution is called Miss Clarissa, named after my dear friend Clarissa Robinson, who I first met when I sat between her and her twin sister Melissa when we were 4-years-old in Kindergarten. Clarissa passed away in January and this is my way of celebrating someone who made me laugh, was always - always - in my corner, and steadfastly supported my business like a devoted mommy, telling any and everyone within earshot about RLC.
This one is beautiful, like my friend. =)
The Riley/Land Collection is known for our wooden kitchenware. From our award-winning biscuit cutters to our extensive line of rolling pins to our extremely popular bowl line, people know that our products are exquisitely crafted, made with care, and will last a lifetime. The roots of these pieces share history with the roots of my family - on our farm in rural Tennessee. The vast majority of the wood comes from one of our parcels of land. We believe in being as zero waste as possible, so we have developed ways to utilize nearly every cut of wood, even down to ensuring that the shavings find a new home in Raku firing or gardening mulch/compost.
The pieces we craft are made to last a lifetime, durable enough to use rather than to just sit on a shelf looking pretty. The grain, tone, and character of the wood are part of the design. Each piece is - quite naturally - one-of-a-kind.
Handmade in Tennessee.
