"Park Terrace" Giclée: Matthew Thomas Abstract Art

I am an art collector. I own pieces from both up-and-coming and very well-established artists. When I was living in Atlanta – early 2000s – I went on a couple of dates with a man who made these stunning pieces using nothing but wire. I should have bought one. To this day, I remember a piece I wanted so badly. After that, I paid attention and, when art spoke to me, I listened.

My Harlem life was filled with members of the creative class – singers, designers, models, photographers – and when I met artist Matthew Thomas, he was a natural fit. I moved to Nashville and he moved to Memphis, but I continued to follow his career. One day, I saw a piece of his that spoke to my soul. It was on his Instagram feed, hanging in a Manhattan hotel. It stayed on my mind for months before I reached out to see if he offered prints of his originals.

Turns out, he was looking for the right printer. I found one locally that prints for Nashville's elite, but the cost was outrageous. I bought it anyway. I wanted this piece. Since, I have picked up two more giclée prints. At which point, Matthew and I started discussing options for me to sell his work. That was 2022.

After trying out numerous printers, we have found the right one. Each piece is printed on archival-grade canvas, using high-quality Epson inks. The colors match the originals, with the same detail and sharpness. Then, everything is sealed with just the right amount of glaze. They are affixed in a black floating frame, with closed backing and installation hardware. The prints are 18 x 36.
